A few people have asked me questions regarding the Billingham Hadley Pro and whether it is suitable for carrying an iPad or not. The answer is yes, it can carry an iPad quite comfortably in one of a couple of places.
The first is inside the main compartment between the padded insert and the sides of the bag. If I were to carry the iPad, this is where I would personally put it.
It fits in there quite nicely when placed in horizontally. Vertically, though, is pushing it a bit.
The other place you can store an iPad is in the zipped compartment on the back side of the bag. Out of the two options, I would say this is the least protected place for it. The canvas is waterproof of course, and it would take something particularly extreme for water to work its way through the zipper, but I still think it’s too exposed to potential knocks, kicks and drops.
Those iPads are particularly weak in the corners and all it would take is a hefty drop and you could crack the screen. You could also potentially scratch the screen or the rear of the iPad on the zipper every time you got it out or put it away. If you have a case for your iPad, then your mileage may vary.
I hope that answers your question, “Can you fit an iPad inside the Billingham Hadley Pro?”
